Education & Brain Drain

 Education & Brain Drain

According to the British Council, one hundred thousand candidates from Pakistan will participate in the O-Level exams this year. The examination fees for eight subjects in O-Level is PKR 211,000/.

This means that only for one O-Level exam, Cambridge Board will take 21 billion rupees from Pakistan. On the other hand, the Federal Government's budget for higher education for the entire year is 6 billion rupees. Where our elite class spends 21 billion in just one exam, Quaid-e-Azam University's budget for seven years includes A-Level, IGCSE, and GCSE students.

If we combine everything, Cambridge University alone collects PKR 30 billion in terms of one exam's revenue. And let's also understand that O-Level, A-Level, and IGCSE exams are held twice a year. So, approximately PKR50 billion are taken out of Pakistan in just one year by one university.

American schools, Pakistani-Turkish schools, and non-local universities are earning separately on their campuses, while we are preparing to destroy ourselves at home. Meanwhile, international educational institutions are taking advantage of the weaknesses in our system and even looting our wealth at home. They are also pulling our brilliant children out of the country.

In reality, we are not only disconnected from politics but also from education.
